For six to twelve months, per manufacturer guidelines, this filter will reduce the ability of everything from sand to silt to grit from infiltrating your homes water. While screen elements should not go longer than twelve months without being replaced, filter screens can be easily cleaned and reused multiple times. This filter is 250 mesh, 61 micron and designed to fit a one-inch pipe.
